DEA Chairwoman Anne-Sophie Gógl joined the panel to bring the perspective of digital money, payments and financial infrastructure to a timely debate on Europe’s digital sovereignty.

A key takeaway from the discussion was clear: digital sovereignty cannot be understood through individual technologies alone. AI, blockchain, payments and digital money are increasingly connected parts of the same strategic infrastructure question.

For Europe, the challenge is not only to innovate, but to build trusted digital infrastructures that support competitiveness, resilience, autonomy and democratic values.

Discussions like this are especially important in policy-facing settings, where technological development and political priorities meet. DEA was pleased to contribute the digital money perspective to this broader conversation on Europe’s digital future.
