In this way, we want to reflect the growing convergence of the digital euro, stablecoins, tokenized finance and digital payments infrastructure. DEA events are strictly neutral and designed to surface a balanced set of views. **Past meeting · 2 December 2025** ## The Digital Euro Dialogue:  At the Table Before the Trilogue ![Conceptual illustration of the euro with digital ledger networks, users, merchants and financial stakeholders](https://digital-euro-association.de/hubfs/hs-generated-images/Euro%20Symbol%20And%20Digital%20Network%20Landscape.png) **European Parliament · Brussels** In December 2025, the DEA convened the inaugural Digital Euro Dialogue at the European Parliament in Brussels, hosted together with MEP Fulvio Martusciello. Closed-door and invitation-only, it brought senior policymakers, central bank representatives and industry leaders into one room, at a moment when the digital euro was still finding its political footing. The focus was deliberately sharp: the digital euro itself, across its two dimensions. One panel took on the retail digital euro, where the EBF, the EBA, Ecommerce Europe and academia weighed the questions that decide everyday adoption: privacy, holding limits, the role of intermediaries, and merchant acceptance. The second panel turned to the wholesale side, with the European Commission, BaFin and Qivalis discussing the settlement of tokenized assets and central bank money for a digital financial market. A year on, much of what was debated around that table has moved into the real world. The European Parliament has adopted its position, trilogue negotiations are underway, and the Eurosystem’s wholesale settlement work has gone from concept to Pontes go-live. The questions the Dialogue first raised – on privacy, usability, stability and sovereignty – are now the questions defining Europe’s digital money framework. That is why we are bringing the Dialogue back, and this time even bigger.
