The Digital Euro Association is pleased to announce the DEA Summer Forum 2026, taking place in Frankfurt on 22nd September 2026.

Hosted by Mayer Brown LLP, this event will gather key players across the digital money landscape—including policymakers, financial institutions, infrastructure providers, fintechs, and digital asset firms. Designed around interactive roundtable discussions and informal networking opportunities, the forum offers participants a unique space to exchange perspectives with industry leaders and help shape the future of digital finance.

🏛️ A Glimpse of the Roundtable Discussions
Beyond the DLT Pilot: Building Europe's Legal Framework for Tokenized Markets
This session will dive into whether Europe is ready to move tokenized financial markets beyond limited pilot regimes and into the ordinary market-infrastructure rulebook, keeping in mind the crucial regulatory and operational building blocks such as:

  • The DLT Pilot Regime, MISP, CSDR, MiFID/MiFIR
  • Settlement Finality, cash settlement, thresholds, interoperability, and the role of central bank money in tokenized settlement.

Core Question: Does Europe require further experimentation, targeted amendments to existing financial-market laws, or a dedicated production framework for tokenized securities and settlement?

One Token, Two Regimes: Can Global Stablecoins Work under MiCA?
This roundtable will address the complex interplay between global issuers and European regulation. Key discussions point inlcude:

  • Reserve locations, redemption claims, issuer liability, same-brand fungibility
  • Equivalence or mutual recognition, systemic risk, and euro-area monetary sovereignty.

Central Question: whether the upcoming MiCA review should clarify the explicit conditions under which multi-issuance can be permitted, restricted, or supervised?
